At Lifestyle Screens we are constantly seeking ways to simplify the installation process for our dealers. Time is money. The less time you spend on the job, the more screens you can install per day.

In the Lifestyle Screens hardware box you will soon find the wheel brackets pre-assembled with the rollers, bushings, pushnuts, cable  pins and E-clips all pre-installed. This will not only cut your installation time even further,  but it will also eliminate the possibility that the wheel brackets are installed incorrectly. With the rollers pre-installed there is only one possible way for each wheel bracket to be affixed to the frame. Additionally, this reduces the number of loose parts that you have to handle in the installation.

As you are also aware, we have developed a patented screen clipping system and clips that cut the time it takes to screen the bays. Our dealers are so pleased with this process that we feel compelled to repeat it here:

Installation Tip: What is the Best Tool to Use for Screening?

Frequently, we are asked: What is the best tool to use for screening the Lifestyle garage screen?

We prefer to use the $2.99 plastic spline rolling tools available at all of the big box and most local hardware stores. The roller discs should be plastic, as these are less likely to cut the fiberglass screen material if you accidentally press too hard.  Typically, there are 2 roller discs on each end of the spline rolling tool. One roller disk will have a concave grooved edge. The other roller disc will have a convex rounded edge.

Remember, for our application, always roll in the spline using the roller disc with the grooved edge by placing the groove over the exposed edge of the spline and rolling.

FYI, the other roller disc at the opposite end with the rounded edge is for screening window frames.

Marketing Spotlight: How Do I Get in on the Holiday Selling Season?

There are many ways to successfully market the Lifestyle garage screen during the holiday shopping season. The Lifestyle garage screen is a perfect gift for the person who has everything because, being a recently released product, chances are high that most homeowners do not as of yet have the Lifestyle garage screen.

(a) It is important to be where the customer is. This is generally in strip malls and shopping centers. Our display booth works perfectly as a kiosk. Shopping centers and strip malls rent kiosk locations during the holidays. Several dealers have been successful at these locations. However, to be successful in such a venue you will also need to (i) be equipped with credit card acceptance devices, (ii) print up and offer gift certificates for the Lifestyle garage screen. Plan early, reserve your kiosk spaces early and prepare your gift certificates ahead of time. Be prepared.

(b) Another place that consumers flock to during the holiday shopping season is online. Amazon and Ebay are perfect venues to offer the Lifestyle garage screen. Determine the territory within which you will install the Lifestyle screen and list your offering on Amazon, Ebay and other online shopping venues. Prepare your listing and have it inserted in these shopping sites early.

(c) Offer holiday coupons and discounts. Everyone is looking for a deal these days. You can insert a flyer, coupons and other offers into each piece of mail that you send out to customers. If you are already mailing invoices, bills, or statements to customers, you can send your offers to these customers at zero additional cost.

Installation Tip: Magnet Installation

Q:

How many of you have been installing the magnets on the top horizontal only to have a screw turn on you and loosen from the nut? If you have had this happen to you, you are not alone.

A:

To facilitate this part of the installation, place a finger over the top of each of the two screws as you slide the magnet into place as shown in the picture.
